We’re delighted to share that the new VintageArt.ie website is now live.
Vintage Art is an offshoot of Ireland Made – stories of Irish transport brought to life by Kevin Reid, John Furlong and Philip Darling. Between us we have told hundreds of stories about the machines that shaped this island, restored military vehicles and designed for heritage brands.
Keeping that spirit going, Vintage Art offers handmade, transport-inspired art, creations that mix storytelling, craft and a bit of design curiosity. Our collection includes work we have made or restored ourselves, such as:
• A 1960s VW Beetle bonnet reborn with a ‘Hippy’ paint job
• A Willys Jeep grille rewired with lights
• A replica Johnston, Mooney & O’Brien van door
• A ‘NO STEP’ panel inspired by an Irish Air Corps aircraft
• Candlesticks made from gearbox cogs
• A navigator’s lamp from WWII Irish patrol boat ‘M1’ mounted on mahogany
• A table lamp built from a 1930s Alfa Romeo headlamp
• A full-size replica Spitfire
More many more pieces are already on the bench.
We are also aiming to work with transport museums across Ireland, giving old parts a new purpose. By buying and reimagining pieces that would otherwise sit in storage we can create something new that still carries the weight of its story. With each piece sold, a portion of the proceeds supports the museums we partner with, helping to sustain the people and places that have been keeping Ireland’s transport heritage safe for decades.
Every item is one-of-a-kind, the sort of piece that sparks a conversation the moment you walk into the room. Perfect for a den, a home office, a showroom, a restaurant or a bar.
Check out the new site at www.vintageart.ie and let us know what you think.
Best regards
