Irish Transport Heritage Celebrated – International Museum Day 2026 | Season 6 – Episode 45
Wheels May 18, 2026
To celebrate Irish transport heritage on International Museum Day on 18th May, Ireland Made – Stories of Irish Transport is proud to showcase our collection of more than 50 videos and articles created in partnership with 16 museums and heritage attractions across Ireland. Since 2021, we have worked with transport museums and heritage collections throughout Ireland to help preserve and share our island’s rich transport story.
Our featured story for International Museum Day is “1800s Traveller Caravan on Display at Cashel Folk Village | Season 4 – Episode 68”. In this episode, Cashel Folk Village curator Bernard Minogue tells the remarkable story of what is believed to be the last surviving original horse-drawn traveller caravan, built in the late 1800s and once owned by the Delaney family of Cashel, County Tipperary.
Each week, we travel the length and breadth of Ireland uncovering and sharing the country’s unique transport stories and those miles soon add up. While Dennison Trailers kindly sponsor the Ireland Made website, all travel costs involved in producing these stories are borne by Kevin Reid.
