How do you get a double mattress & an outside kitchen into 4×8 trailer?

I’m Kevin Reid, passionate about all things mechanical. Join me for weekly videos and articles on Irish transport past and present, from individuals, museums and companies.
My love for mechanics originated from my parents, avid enthusiasts of long-distance road trips on motorbikes, cars and vans throughout Ireland and beyond. Our family explorations extended from Ireland to destinations like Austria, France, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Switzerland and the UK. I fondly recall riding pillion on my father’s Jawa 350 and later his Suzuki GS850, while my brother Dermot was securely fastened to my mother’s Honda CB250 and later her Yamaha XS400.
Meeting Martina from County Leitrim introduced me to a community of skilled individuals crafting remarkable things in their sheds. Now my wife, Martina and I share a passion for all things mechanical. Together, we’ve restored our 1965 Volvo Amazon and resprayed our 1979 Land Rover Series III.
In 2018, I initiated ‘Leitrim Made’ as a website to highlight projects by neighbours and friends. Originally focused on photographs and stories like a Kioti tracked-tractor, MZ motorcycle with single-wheel trailer, our Land Rover respray and a 1936 Wolseley ‘Wacky Racer,’ it evolved during the 2020 lockdown into a broader platform covering the entire island and rebranded as ‘Ireland Made.’
In rebranding to ‘Ireland Made,’ we adopted the Irish Elk in Saint Patrick’s blue as our logo, symbolising the majestic creature that once roamed freely across the island of Ireland.
Every week, we’ll continue to bring you our video stories and articles. If it has wings, wheels, or floats with an Irish connection, you’ll discover it here.
Please enjoy our Ireland Made stories.

Kevin Reid
