Offered in Ireland is a rare and important private collection of 12 Series Land Rovers, representing production from 1951 through 1982. British Motor Industry Heritage Trust Certificates – available for all vehicles.
Also included are two exceptionally rare 1956 Fire Tenders, assembled in Dublin as CKD (Complete Knocked Down) units by the Brittains Group on the Naas Road, together with a 1938 chariot-style Beresford-Stork pump trailer, all with distinguished service histories in the County Laois Fire Service.

VARIED COLLECTION
This collection offers a remarkable mix of factory-built and CKD-assembled 80, 88, 107, and 109-inch Station Wagons and Pickups.
Collection overview:
1. 1951 Land Rover Series I 80-Inch Basic
An early example of the Series I, notable for its straightforward and rugged design. Rare to come across, it sets the tone for the collection’s focus on authenticity.
2.1955 Land Rover Series I 107 – Inch Pick-up
Completely original and unrestored, this is a genuine survivor. Its appeal lies in the fact that it remains exactly as it left the factory nearly seventy years ago.
3.1956 Land Rover Series I 109 – Inch Pick-up
One of a pair of Dublin-assembled CKD Land Rovers once used by the County Laois Fire Service. A rare piece of Ireland’s motoring and emergency service history.
4.1982 Land Rover Series III V8
With its 3.5K V8 the Series III is widely believed by many to be the most capable Series Land Rover to come out of the factory at Solihull.
5.1951 Land Rover Series I 109 – Inch Basic
Spent its working life on a remote sheep station in New Zealand, where durability and reliability were essential. Originally advertised in the Otago Daily Times in 1951 by Broadway Parking & Petrol Station, Dunedin, as a “10cwt Farm and Industrial Utility Vehicle.”
6.1956 Land Rover Series I Pick-up
The second of the Dublin-built CKD Land Rovers for County Laois Fire Service. Also offered for sale is a 1938 demountable Beresford-Stork chariot-style pump trailer.
6a.1938 Beresford-Stork Lightweight Trailer Pump
Technically advanced for its time, with a demountable 8 hp Austin engine, this trailer pump highlights the innovation of the late 1930s.
7.1956 Series I 86-Inch RHD Export (CKD) Station Wagon
A remarkable survivor, having covered only 37,238 miles in nearly seven decades. A rare example of minimal use and careful preservation.
8.1957 Land Rover Series I 88 – Inch
Worked in Auckland’s High Country before being restored by the Land Rover Enthusiasts Club in Rotorua. Later, it was put to use in conservation work with the Kaharoa Kokako Trust in the Bay of Plenty before eventually finding its way to Ireland.
9. 1958 Land Rover Series I 88 – Inch RHD Export
Originally fitted with a 1,997cc engine, it was later upgraded to a 2.8-litre Nissan LD28 six-cylinder diesel, an unusual but practical modification for more power.
10.1956 Land Rover Series I 107 – Inch CKD Station Wagon
The only Australian example in the collection. After years of service on a sheep station, it was stored in a shed in 1975. Rediscovered thirty years later, before being shipped to Ireland in 2005.
11.1952 Land Rover Series I Country Station Wagon
A curious mix of details. Though registered as a 107-Inch, its chassis number corresponds to an 80-Inch model. The vehicle carries distinctive features such as Australian Ford Falcon XT tail lights, giving it a Mad Max character all its own.
12. Land Rover Series I 107-Inch CSW Export RHD
Acquired as a rolling chassis from a Land Rover garage in New Zealand. Some restoration work has been completed and the IIa engine has been reconditioned, but much remains to be done, its story is still unfolding.
